The violence against the civilian population in Darfur triggered an international humanitarian and civil society response in 2004. The conflict of interests amongst the local and international actors enabled the elite from specific northern Sudanese ethnic groups to remain in power. This book attempts to uncover the disagreements and the regional/global dynamics in this war. This evaluating process has applied innovatively Oliver Ramsbotham’s theory of conflict resolution, Radical disagreement.
