Writing from South Africa, the latest title in the Figures in a Landscape series, projects a variety of images and perspectives on the country and its people, and will introduce UK readers to the wealth of largely unknown South African writing which is suitable for use in schools. Because the stories are written by authors of all ethnic groups, this chronological collection charts the political complexity of the Republic and the problems but also the opportunities created by racial and political tensions.
