The book exposes the effects of divorce or separation on the self concept of grade six primary school children living with their single mothers.A Cross-sectional study in Masvingo Urban in Zimbabwe. Most findings indicated that children had a positive self concept though some minor discrepancies were raised by teachers and some of the children. The study concluded that in Masvingo, children whose mothers were divorced or separated had no disciplinary problems and had a positive attitude towards school work and themselves.A strong support system from the mother and other relatives together with the mother/child relatioship were seen as the reason for a positive self concept. Continued support from the mother and teachers necessary in different foms.The book suits reading by lecturers in teacher's colleges,practicing teachers and parents worldwide.
