Distributions, age, sex, marital status, composition, fertility, Occupation, religion, ethnicity, language etc are major social indicators of a human society. Among them, distribution or origin of the GBS students, their ethnicity and their motivation towards the occupations in society were three aspects o exploration in this present study. Composition and distribution of GBS students will help the institution to predict the future activities, to develop the physical facilities including teaching materials and trained manpower. It will also reflect the role and status of the ethnic people in overall de3velopment of the country. Occupational motivation of will reflect the present motive of the students towards the services or commodities they can provide to the developing world according to the development strategies. To study these facts, the study area was chosen to be Gandaki Boarding School, Kaski, Nepal. It was established in 1965 with triangular relationship of local community, representative of the Shinning hospital (now INF) and United Mission to Nepal. It began and grew up as Gandaki Higher Secondary Boarding School, a regional school in western Nepal.
