There is now a heighten concern towards sustainable development. European commission has also set laws such as the waste Framework, landfill, packaging directive etc. setting limits and targets for the member countries to save the environment. Sorting waste is important to achieve the set targets, some councils such as Blaenau Gwent introducing a £100 fine Walesonline (2011) and others like Rhondda Cynon Taff introducing the "sort and save" scheme in Glyncoch Rhondda Cynon Taff (2010). This book investigates awareness and practice in order to facilitate the involvement of international students towards proper disposal of food packaging through reduce, reuse and recycle waste control measures. Literature review shows all the necessary theories involves in understanding sustainability, packaging and waste management. Qualitative technique of observation was used to record waste produced for five weeks, focus group semi-structured interview conducted in order to get an in-depth knowledge of how the waste accrued was disposed. The book has recognised lack of proper disposal knowledge, which can be recuperated through information dissemination using induction programmes,TV,internet etc.
