The present study aims to study the biological activities and phytochemistry constituents of Acanthophora spicifera. It includes the evaluation of the extracts for antibacterial activity, Minimum Inhibitory Concentration, Minimum Bactericidal Concentration, total phenolic contents, antioxidant activity and composition study using GC-MS analysis. Among the extracts, methanol and hexane gave the highest biological activities screened. Analysis of gas chromatography (GC-MS)showed the presence of hydrocarbons, fatty acids, aromatic dicarboxylate acid ester and others.This work gave a contribution to knowledge domains in terms of understanding the biological properties of marine algae. Screening of the biological properties also helps in future works on algae as a potential candidates for alternatives clinical drugs from natural products.
