David Lodge's Emma was one of the first Macmillan Casebooks and has proved one of the most popular. Three new essays have been added in this new edition, reflecting new critical approaches such as feminism and deconstruction. The new material complements the classic studies by critics such as Arnold Kettle and Lionel Trilling.
