University of California Press The Philosophy of Food

A thoughtful collection of original essay on the philosophy of food. Designed as a course reader for undergraduates, the essays will cover a number of contemporary hot topics, including food security, environmentalism, consumption, food technologies, nutritionism and more. With this project, were able to cover a number of important of discussions taking place in food studies, but without having to publish individual books. The Philosophy of Food will likely be assigned in survey and upper division food studies and philosophy courses. The book, or individual articles, may also be adopted in courses on environmental studies, bioethics, agriculture, animal rights, and ethics.
