VDM Boesenhofer, M: International Anti-Corruption Instruments

Any sound effort to conduct business or promote economic development can be hampered by corruption. In order to provide the business community with a better understanding of the devastating consequences on the macro- and micro economic environment that come along with increased levels of corruption, this study aims at raising awareness on the severity of the problem and the way entire operating environments get affected. This book provides the reader with basic information on the different forms of corruption, the parties involved as well as its negative consequences. It also gives the reader an idea of the basic legal framework that exists to fight corruption on an international level, and across the European Union. A description and analysis of the most important international anti-corruption instruments explains in an easily understandable manner the legal framework conditions the business community has to deal with in that context.
