Wiley Advances in Environmental Risk

The author provides a unique integrated view of advanced environmental modelling and observation monitoring under data fusion techniques, sensor technology, open web-servicing methods for managing environmental information and decision-support concepts. These will also be underpinned by current legislations and statutory monitoring of the environment at local, regional, national, EU and international levels. The author has invited co-authors from various regions of the world who are experts in their field, of environmental monitoring, information management or indeed regulatory issues. Furthermore, the manuscripts will illustrate some concrete examples of environmental monitoring and decision support topics such as those in bathing water quality management, underwater noise monitoring, air quality monitoring and sensor networks infrastructure for environmental monitoring. One additional illustration is provided in the management of environmental risks and decision-support and lessons learned in risk management from the past. The authors are also members of an international panel of experts, ECOR, in environmental monitoring, of which the author is currently chairing. The objectives of the panel of experts on Environmental Monitoring include the dissemination of state of the art environmental monitoring technologies with regards to the needs of current regulations at various regions of the world.
